A Look at New Haven Wildlife & Our Effects on Their Well-Being

Imagine you build your dream home. Everything about it is tailored to your needs, and then as soon as you are comfortable...someone invades. Humans do this to animal habitats everyday. Remarkably, instead of leaving many animals have adapted to life among humans. From eating our leftover food to seeking shelter in manmade homes, animals have figured out how to live and even thrive in the environments that we have helped to create. Still, at times we humans see these animals as pesky intruders, taking advantage of human resources. In reality, humans and animals living in urban areas often have symbiotic relationships. This year, the EVOLUTIONS program took a look at Urban Wildlife we may see around New Haven including some of the effects that our actions have on the local wildlife!
