February 22, 2018

We are excited to welcome Adam, Al, Amir, Aurea, Brandie, and Joseph as our Environmental Leaders for 2018! From February until July, this crew will be spending their Saturday mornings engaging in discussions of current climate science and environmental topics and engaging with community members focused on advocating for the environment. Students will be producing videos on the science behind environmental topics, as well as blogging monthly on current environmental studies and issues.   On Saturday, February 17, Environmental Leaders kicked off the program during a full day workshop. They spent the day discussing their prior knowledge of environmental science, engaging with community members Chris Schweitzer of the New Haven León Sister City Project and Jim Sirch of the Hamden Land Conservation Trust, and viewing and discussing the documentary This Changes Everything.  We are excited to learn with and from these leaders!
